single-channel video installation (HD video with sound, 13’28”, loop)

Along with their instruments, a group of musicians are being featured within an immense industrial compound of a wine factory. Each musician has been asked to play a single note which she/he chose individually, as long as possible. 

Like an industrial compound, a music instrument is indeed an artificial entity. In this video, both of these lifeless entities are presented as pure beauties while the musicians – the only human beings in the scenario – are increasingly exhausted by playing a single, prolonged tone. 

The project was realized in cooperation with the brass band of Untermarkersdorf, Lower Austria.
