It looks like it is heard (2014-15)

4-channel video installation (HD video, no sound, 7’29”)

Five musicians (who are non-professional pianists) are told to play the same piano piece sight-reading. At the same time their facial expression is recorded on video. These video portraits are interpreted visually by the artist with regard to the mimic of the musicians. These different visualizations are used as notation elements in the graphic notation of a music composition of the same title and is composed for any five instruments.
This work does not deal with the aural level but reflects the physiological expression of the music interpreters and is also an experiment of relating visual and auditory elements in context of classical music and visual arts.
