Four-channel video installation/video essay in four episodes (varied lengths between 9 min. to 15 min., HD, colour, with sound), smart speaker, audio piece (stereo, 5 min. 09 sec.)
Proceeding from the technology of conversational voice-user interface (VUI) and its ex-tensive use in combination with virtual assistants such as smart home speakers or voice assistants, Talk to me…to you shows a non-linear narration of the protagonist and her day-to-day interaction with div. smart speakers.
In juxtaposition with the phenomenon of ice channeling – a spiritual practice, in which the voice of the channeller becomes an essential tool of mediating communication between hu-man and supernatural entities, the artist intends to reflect on the precarious conception of the anthropomorphic, phonetic-based human-machine communication and its impact on the autonomy of our own acoustic data.
